Did you get burned?

As kids we don't get the concept of hot.
As adults we try to defy it.

When I was small my mom told me NOT to touch
the stove. Of course since I was a nerd
I would touch it even though she said
"Don't touch that it's HOT!"
Mom was right. After a few burns I got the
picture.

As an adult people try to find ways around it.
We make oven mitts and fire proof suits so we
can be Superman. Sometimes we still get burned!
Simple enough.

But, we can get burned without fire or heat.

At one point in your life your life you had been
in a situation were someone got "burned."
Someone sId something and got hit with a great comeback.
Then like little 14 year olds everyone said...
"BURN"
This happens alot in middle school.
We also use the term "hot" for people who are attractive.
Cause everyone thinks the sparkly cold vampire is soo hot!!!

But, neither of those is what I mean.

What I mean is when your in a "fiery argument.
Your face turns beet red.
Your hands get sweaty.
And you use alot of hand gestures.
You feel like your on fire!
That's how lots of relationships end.
But, that's also how great relationships begin!!!

Most people have seen or read the Harry Potter series.
If you haven't go rent it!
In the movie the phoenix Faulxs burns up and dies.
Then a new youthful Faulxs rises from the ashes.
Pretty emotional stuff!
That's kinda where I am going with the relationship thing.

Is that what you want?

Pearls

The beauty. The wonder. The gloriousness.

These little beads take thousands of years to devolp.
From one grain of sand creates something truly beautiful.
They are a symbol of purity.

What if we are just a grain of sand waiting to become a pearl?
What if we never reach our full potential?
Wht if we try so hard, but crumble at the slightest advance?

Do you ever feel that way?

Lost, alone, stolen, or worthless?

YOUR NOT!
Everyone has great potential, ambision, charcter, love, you have EVERYTHING!
God makes us who we are.
But, if you don't listen you are only a grain of sand.
You can be a pearl.

Jordan River

Dear Reader,

This week at church we were discussing the fabulous Joradan River in the book of Joshua. Please stop here... Go grab your Bible and open it up and read Joshua. Now.

Now that you have read Joshua we can discuss. As you know Joshua is about the Israelites coming to the Joradan River AGAIN! God tells the Israelites to step into the Joradan and He will help them. They wait THREE DAYS!! Then finaly the priests step into the water. The water parted and in its place was DRY LAND! The point of this is to ask: What's your Jordan River?
Leave your answer in the comments below!
